Annual Programs

First Parish Unitarian is involved in a number of annual community events in Northfield. For the past several years, the church has sponsored a free Thanksgiving Day Community Meal.

The church is also involved in the annual Northfield Holiday Church Fair. Past events at the church fair have included a craft bazaar, bake sale, sale of hand-decorated wreaths and hot lunches for sale. Not long after the holiday fair, the church season continues with a Winter Solstice service and a Christmas Eve service.

Monthly Programs

Several monthly programs have been established by First Parish Unitarian. The Country Breakfasts, held on the last Saturday of each month, are a wonderful time to get together for a community meal and a tasty breakfast of eggs, bacon and homemade biscuits. These breakfasts are open to the community and are $6 per person.

First Parish has also held a monthly coffeehouse, New Moon Coffeehouse, which featured live music, open mic, refreshments and games. The coffeehouses are currently on hiatus.

Weekly Programs

Each Sunday, as the children leave the service to go to their religious education program, the older youth participate in collecting food from the congregation to donate  to a local food pantry. While this is part of our Sunday worship service it is also a social action program that the congregation generously contributes to. This year we are offering our food collection to the local Northfield pantry "Katie's Kitchen."
